In just its first four days of its screening in North America, The Sword Art Online anime film titled Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale has earned 1.35 million dollars in ticket sales— a new opening record for an anime film distributed by Aniplex of America. Played in over 560 theaters nationwide, the movie was praised well by both critics and fans.
Aniplex of America President Hideki Goto said that he is honored that so many SAO fans in the West have supported the film. “Ordinal Scale has become a smash hit worldwide and has garnered some wonderful reviews from critics. We hope that our dub release next month will bring the same excitement and lead to more people being able to enjoy this wonderful film.”
To those who have missed out the first screening, you don’t worry for the movie will return on April 22 for a very limited time. This upcoming return screening will also be the debut of the movie’s English dub. You may get your tickets at www.sao-movie.net/us . Be sure to hurry because tickets are sold out fast.
