The release of the Japanese blu-rays & DVDs of D.Gray-man Hollow television anime has been cancelled. In its official website, the production announced that it has called off the release due to “various circumstances,” without detailing the specifics.
D.Gray-man Hollow is the second television anime adaptation of Katsura Hoshino’s original D.Gray-man manga. It is directed by Yoshiharu Ashino, and the first of its 13 episodes originally aired in Japan last July.
Funimation simulcast the anime with English subtitles as it as it premiered in Japan. It also streamed an English dub version of the series.
Story description (by Funimation)
“From the studio behind D.Gray-man comes the highly anticipated continuation to the popular series. Allen Walker is an exorcist working for the Black Order whose mission is to protect mankind from the evil Millennium Earl and his deadly Akuma. Allen and his comrades must recover lost Innocence while defending against the Earl’s terrifying army. But if they fail, Innocence will be lost forever.”
The blu-ray and DVD versions of D.Gray-man Hollow anime were initially scheduled to be released last September. The release, however, was postponed “to improve” its “quality,” as previously announced in its website.
