2017 Sapporo Snow Festival Features Anime and Gaming Ice Sculptures

Let it snow! The Sapporo Snow Festival this year brings out something that not only will there be something for the regular crowd to admire but there will be something for both anime, gaming and other fans alike to enjoy. Scattered amongst the sculptures of the exhibit are works that many fans could recoginize and find entertainment in.

One of the main features of the festival is a mini-light show that occurred ever thirty minutes with the sculpture Hatsune Miku. At the time of the shows a song would and it was the 2017 theme song for Hatsune, “Star Night Show.”

Another feature of the festival that can be found and even has been reported on is the large scale sculpture of Cloud from the “Final Fantasy” franchise frozen in mid battle with his arch-nemesis Sephirote. It is entitled “Decisive Battle! Final Fantasy in Snow” and is derived from a scene from the film “Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.”

Other sculptures that fans can also enjoy range from the popular picture, the classic game character Mario, and other recognizable characters from anime, games, and even memes.
