Japanese film and TV actor Shunji Fujimura passed away on January 25 at the age of 82. The cause of his death was heart failure.
Fujimura lived in Kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture and studied at the TOHO School of Performing Arts. He went to studying pantomiming in France before making his acting debut in the 1960s. He was known in his role in the 1967 commercial “YeYe”
He played the role of Watari for the following live-action films: Death Note, Death Note: The Last Name and L change the WorLd . Aside from being an actor, he is also provided the voice of Tanaka in the Black Butler anime franchise.
A flower offering will be held for him at Febuary 14 in the Chosenji Temple in Shibuya.
