A new anime adaptation featuring a unique sports character is under production with Shueisha’s
Weekly Young Jump magazine announcement in the 10th issue on Thursday. Entitled “Cleanliness Boy! Aoyama-kun” a.k.a “Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun” created by Taku Sakamoto, the story tells of a boy named Aoyama, a handsome soccer genius and representative of Japan that is particular about staying clean. When playing he never tackles nor does he head the ball, and if he were made to do a throw-in he would do so with gloves; this is his “cleanliness” style.
In addition to the announcement of its anime adaptation it has also been announced that shall be resuming its manga serialization. The manga was first published in 2014 in the Shueisha’s Miracle Jump magazine until Sakamoto continued the series in the Weekly Young Jump in 2015. The upcoming 7th volume is expected to be published on February 17.
Currently Shueisha teases its interested party with the opening of a countdown on its official website on Thursday for the anime project and is slated to end on February 2 at 12:00 a.m. JST (February 1 at 10:00 a.m. EST).
