Early this week, Southeast Asian channel Animax Asia announced in its official website that it will air the Gabriel Dropout anime television series, premiering on January 9 at 10:00 p.m. in Indonesia and Thailand, and at 11:00 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines.
The story as described by Animax Asia:
“An angel at the top of an angel school has descended to the human world! However, she has been acclimating herself to the life of the human world so much that she ends up leading a self-indulgent life, skipping school all the time and being absorbed in online games. Gabriel soon forgets about her original goal to make human beings happy and has turned into a lazy and hopeless angel, or a “sloppy angel” in short. Amazingly, she swears to continue to fully enjoy the pleasure of various entertainments of the human world.”
Cast:
• Gabriel
“Gabriel graduated at the top of the class at the angel school. She becomes a good-for-nothing angel as she gets mesmerized by the pleasure of various entertainments of the human world.”
• Vignette
“Vignette is an earnest and steadfast devil who is unable to leave anyone in the lurch. She is often seen around Gabriel and looks out for her.”
• Raphiel
“Raphiel is a good old friend of Gabriel, with a voluptuous body. She may look like a kind-hearted angel but is in fact a sadistic one who loves to poke fun at others to pass time.”
• Satanichia
“Satanichia aspires to be the greatest devil but she is clumsy and innocent devil. Even though she sees Gabriel as her rival, the latter could not care less about Satanichia.”
Trailer:
Gabriel Dropout is directed by Masahiko Ohta at studio Doga Kobo, with Katsuhiro Kumagai as character designer, and Takashi Aoshima and the one handling the series composition.
The anime series will start airing in Japan on January 9 at AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11, and on January 10 at KBS Kyoto, Shizuoka Broadcasting System, Gifu Broadcasting, and Mie TV. Last week, Crunchyroll announced that it will also simulcast the show on Monday, January 9, at 11:00 a.m. EST, and will be available to all Crunchyroll members worldwide except those in Asia.
