A light visual novel created by TYPE-MOON and Yuichiro Higashide entitled Fate/Apocrypha launches an official website on Saturday in which not only do they announce of their anime adaptation but they also release a list of details along with a promotional video. In comparison to other announcements of anime adaptations based from light visual novels such an act would be considered a rather forward move on the part of the planners.
According to the report the staff of this adaptation consists of firstly Higashide himself acting as chief over the scripts for the series. Acting as director is Yoshiyuki Asai, recognized as having directed the fantasy series “Charlotte” and had done the storyboarding and directing of the promotional video. Working on the designs of the characters for the animation is Yukei Yamada. Last but not least is the composer for the music of the series, Masaru Yokoyama.
As for the story of the series, it tells the tale of war waged in a town called Fuyuki by seven Mages and Heroic Spirits. The war was known as a Holy Grail War and during the chaos of war a Mage took advantage and stole away a Holy Grail. After several decades a family who took upon the Holy Grail as a symbol decided to defect from the Mage Association to gain independence and in turn gained their fury.
The family known as the Yggdmillennia family were then targeted by the association but had defeated them through the use of summoned Servants. In turn the whole system took a completely unprecedented turn and changed the scales. Now the stakes have raised as seven versus seven go head to head in battle.
It was around 2012 that the novels first got published with the fifth and final volume being published in 2014. Now two years later an anime adaptation is set to be produced for the following year though there is no solid month announced.
