The Yuri!!! on Ice anime production continues to give its fans more reason to be hyped on the upcoming episodes. On Tuesday, its official website have recently announced that they are casting Japanese Professional Skater Nobunari Oda to play the role of himself in the anime. His appearance will be this coming December 14 during the Grand Prix Final competition.
Yuri!!! on Ice premiered in Japan on October 6 and gained an international following ever since. Below is a synopsis of the anime series as described by Funimation:
Yuri Katsuki makes his way to the Grand Prix ice skating competition as Japan’s top representative with his eyes on the prize. However, instead of celebrating, Yuri walks away defeated and ready to retire for good. But a run-in with champion Viktor Nikiforov and rising star Yuri Plisetsky ignites a new fire within him. With the two of them close by his side, Yuri will take to the ice once more.
