A special event for the My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! (Otome Game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijō ni Tensei Shiteshimatta…) TV anime last Saturday announced that the romcom series will be receiving a game slated for release next year! The game will be under Idea Factory’s Otomate brand and is officially titled, Otome Game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei Shiteshimatta… Haran o Yobu Kaizoku (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! The Pirate Known as “Trouble”).

Check out the announcement video for the game here!

The game will feature an original story and will take place as Catarina is slowly but surely evading all her “doom flags”. In the game, she faces a new “doom flag” when she meets a pirate named “Silver”.

The TV anime series was adapted from the light novel series of the same name, written by Satoru Yamaguchi and illustrated by Nami Hidaka. J-Novel Club holds the English digital license release for the series, and they describe the story as such:

“After hitting her head particularly hard one day, Duke Claes’ daughter, Katarina, suddenly recalls all the memories of her past life: that of a teenage Japanese girl. Just before her untimely death, this girl recalls playing an otome game… that is exactly like the world she’s living in now!

She is now Katarina Claes, the antagonist of the otome game, who nastily hounded the protagonist until the end. Knowing all the possible outcomes of the game, she realizes that every single possible route ends with Katarina being murdered or exiled! In order to avoid these Catastrophic Bad Ends, she has to use her knowledge of the game and her own wiles, starting with breaking off this engagement with the prince…

Will Katarina survive while making her way through this world, where bad flags trip at every turn? Find out in this reverse-harem rom-com, led by everybody’s favorite villainess!”

The series was directed by Keisuke Inoue (Ao-chan Can’t Study!) for studio SILVER LINK. Series scripts were supervised by Megumi Shimizu (Butlers x Battlers) while Miwa Oshima (Ao-chan Can’t Study!) adapted Hidaka’s character designs for TV.

The TV anime series aired on April 2020. The light novel series was first published in the Shousetsuka ni Narou! website in 2014, and was eventually picked up by Ichijinsha and published in 2015. The series was also adapted into a manga in 2017. A second season was also announced for the series and is slated for a 2021 release.
