The first full trailer was just revealed for Netflix and studio Sublimation’s upcoming anime adaptation of CAPCOM’s Dragon’s Dogma video game series! Check out the trailer here!

In addition to a new trailer, Netflix has also revealed a new key visual for the series.

Dragon’s Dogma is slated for a September 17, 2020 worldwide release exclusively via Netflix. The series is listed with seven episodes, with each named after one of the seven deadly sins.

The series is directed and produced by Shin’ya Sugai (009 Re: Cyborg) for studio Sublimation, with Taiki Sakurai (Cannon Busters) serving as executive producer. Co-producing are CAPCOM’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Devil May Cry) and Takashi Kitahara (Resident Evil: Damnation). Script will be written by Kurasumi Sunayama (Yowamushi Pedal, Cardfight!! Vanguard) and Iku Nishimura (Eden of the East) will be handling character design.

Netflix describes the anime series as such:

“The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.”

Dragon’s Dogma is a hack-and-slash RPG video game series by CAPCOM. It was first released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The pitch for the game was originally created by director Hideaki Itsuno in 2000 before he was director of Devil May Cry 2; in 2008 production for Dragon’s Dogma was in full swing.

An enhanced and expanded version of the game, entitled Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen was released for its original consoles in 2013 and was then ported to Microsoft Windows (2016), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (2017), and finally the Nintendo Switch (2019).

A Japan-exclusive MMORPG for the series, entitled Dragon’s Dogma Online, was released in August 2015. It ended service last December 2019.
