The official website of wall-climbing-themed TV anime series Iwa-Kakeru! – Sports Climbing Girls – has revealed a new official visual this Wednesday. Check it out below!
The website also announced the artists who will perform its main theme songs. Love Live! Sunshine!!’s Aina Suzuki, who also stars in the series, will be singing the opening theme song Motto Tokaku (Ever Higher). The ending theme song, entitled "LET’S CLIMB↑" will be sung by the series’ voice actresses Sumire Uesaka, Yui Ishikawa, Aina Suzuki, and Miyu Tomita. They will be collectively credited as “Hanamiya Girls’ High School Climbing Team”.
Iwa-Kakeru! will premiere on October 3 on Asahi Broadcasting Channel’s new late-night anime block called “ANiMAZING!”. Iwa-Kakeru! will be the block’s first offering.
The cast members are:

· Miyu Tomita (After School Dice Club’s Midori) as Nonoaka Sugiura
· Mikako Komatsu (Ajin’s Izumi Shimomura) as Chinari Iwamine
· Sachi Kokuryu (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphan’s Azee Gurumin) as Chigusa Kumagai
· Chihiro Ueda (Karakuri Circus’ Masaru Saiga) as Masumi Fujita
· Daria Midou (High Score Girl’s Chihiro Onizuka) as Rina Samura
· Machico (Uma Musume: Pretty Derby’s Tokai Teio) as Kurea Ooba
· Yukari Tamura (Black Butler’s Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford) as Anne Kurusu
The anime series will be directed by Tetsuro Amino (Macross 7), with Touko Machida (Lucky Star) in charge of series scripts. Character design will be done by Frontier One’s Yoshihiro Watanabe (The Testament of Sister New Devil) and music composition will be done by Tsubasa Ito.

The series will be animated by studio BLADE, with Wit Studio and Studio Massket co-producing.
Iwa-Kakeru! – Sports Climbing Girls – is a web manga series written by Ryuudai Ishizaka. The story centers on first-year high school student Konomi Kasahara, who since junior high school has trained her mind through various puzzle games. An encounter with her new high school’s climbing wall and its competitive climbing team changes her life.
As a seemingly added bonus to the series, next year’s Tokyo Olympics will, for the first time ever, include wall-climbing as an official event.
