Still undecided on that Japan trip? Well, it looks like Moonies (like me!) will be booking those tickets right away once you get to see the short PV for the world’s first-ever Sailor Moon restaurant!
The official website for the Shining Moon Tokyo restaurant has just revealed a one-minute PV on some of its attractions, including some pretty sweet Sailor Moon displays as well as the musicals that will be staged in the restaurant every night. Check it out here!
The restaurant has just opened last August 15 in Azabu-Juban, Tokyo—yes, it’s the neighborhood where Usagi herself lived in the anime/manga. It is also where series author Naoko Takeuchi lived for a significant part of her life.
As mentioned above, musical performances will be staged three times every night. Two actresses will be alternating for the role of Sailor Moon: Reona Samejima and Shina Tanaka. Former Takarazuka Revue director Akiko Kodama, who wrote the script for the Sailor Moon The Super Live and directed other stage play adaptations such as Live Spectacle Naruto and Fairy Tail, will be directing and writing the script for the play that will be performed in the restaurant. The stage play will be produced by Nelke Planning, which has produced well-known musical adaptations of anime series such as Touken Ranbu and Prince of Tennis.
Below are the other main cast for the musical:
Sailor Mercury/Ami Misuno: Kokona & Yui Hayashi
Sailor Mars/Rei Hino: Mika Taguchi & Kyoko Ninimiya
Sailor Jupiter/Makoto Kino: Mayuka Ida & Reika Ozaki
Sailor Venus/Minako Aino: Nanae Abe & Yuko Nakanishi
Tuxedo Mask/Mamoru Chiba: Hikari Aoba & Sufa
For those planning to go to Shining Moon Tokyo, do note that walk-ins are not allowed—you’ll have to reserve seats for either lunch or dinner slots, with the tickets costing 3500 yen for the former and 7500-8500 yen for the latter. Reservations can be made here.
