E3 has just ended, and with it we get an AVALANCHE (pun intended!) of news about the much-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake! Without further ado, check out the trailer below—and get ready to watch it again and again:
Besides this longer and better trailer (because Tifa is in it), Square Enix also revealed a gameplay demo walkthrough for FFVII Remake. Check it out below!
The video previews the improved Active Time Battle system, which saw significant improvements from the 1997 version. The video above shows that when your ATB gauge fills up, the game activates Tactical Mode—and enters into a gorgeous slow-mo of the battle scene, allowing the player to choose from various special abilities that Cloud will perform on his enemies.
Besides the improved ATB system, the video demo also shows how fast a player can switch between party members—in the demo, we see Cloud switching with AVALANCHE member Garrett, who is also seen in the demo exhibiting his own sweet battle abilities.
Square Enix also revealed three editions available for the game upon release: the Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and 1st Class Editions. Editions. The Deluxe Edition contains an art book, a mini-soundtrack CD, and a DLC Materia for Cactuar. The Digital Deluxe Edition will contain a digital art book, a digital mini-soundtrack CD, and a DLC Materia for Carbuncle and Cactuar. The 1st Class Edition includes all the content from the Deluxe Edition, a DLC Materia for Carbuncle, as well as an updated Play Arts Kai figure of Cloud Strife astride his iconic Hardy Daytona motorcycle. Those who pre-order the game will receive a DLC Materia for Chocobo Chick. Digital pre-orders will also include a theme for the PS4 menu.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is set for a March 3, 2020 worldwide release on the Play Station 4. It is not yet confirmed if this release is just the first in a series of releases as announced initially, or if this is already the entire game.
