Square Enix is gearing up to re-introduce its timeless gaming classics to old and new fans alike, as they have just released the trailer to the upcoming HD remaster of Final Fantasy X & X-2. The remaster bundles together the two titles and will make the game available for both Nintendo Switch & Xbox One for the first time. The trailer features some of the most iconic scenes from X and X-2, including of course the memorable kiss scene in Macalania Lake between leads Tidus and Yuna. Check it out below:
The gaming company has announced earlier this year that Final Fantasy X & X-2 HD Remaster will ship on April 16 of this year. Square Enix has previously released the game collection on the PlayStation3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan last December 2013 and in Western markets on March 2014. The PlayStation4 port was released worldwide in May 2015, and then was eventually released for PCs as well in May 2016.
Final Fantasy X was first released in 2001 for the PlayStation2. Development of the game began in 1999, with a budget of USD 32.3 million and more than 100 staff members working on the game. Final Fantasy X was known for many firsts in the franchise. The game was known to be the start of the series’ shift to fully three-dimensional areas (instead of the previously-used pre-rendered backdrops) and was also the first in the series to feature voice-acting in its characters. It was also the first-ever Final Fantasy title to have a direct game sequel.

FINAL FANTASY X tells the story of a star blitzball player, Tidus, who journeys with a young and beautiful summoner named Yuna on her quest to save the world of Spira from an endless cycle of destruction wrought by the colossal menace Sin.
FINAL FANTASY X-2 returns to the world of Spira two years after the beginning of the Eternal Calm. Having been shown a mysterious but familiar image in a sphere, Yuna becomes a Sphere Hunter and along with her companions Rikku and Paine, embarks on a quest around the world to find the answers to the mystery within.
The HD remaster will feature enhanced HD graphics, more than 100 hours of gameplay for the two titles combined, and the freedom to tailor one’s gameplay and pick between new game music or the classic audio from the original 2001 game.
