‘Captain Tsubasa’ Anime to End on Episode 52 on Monday

The popular soccer anime series Captain Tsubasa is expected to end on Episode 52 which will be aired on late night Monday 1:50 am Japanese Standard Time on TV Tokyo. This announcement was confirmed in the franchise’s official Twitter page on Tuesday.

The series is based from the popular manga of the same name created Yoichi Takahashi. The new anime adaptation premiered on April 2, 2018 which accurately follows the manga’s story which was originally published in Japan from 1981 to 1988. A number of anime series and movies were produced under this popular franchise. The latest anime is directed by Toshiyuki Kato at studio David Production. Hajime Watanabe is the chief animation director and character designer, and Atsuhiro Tomioka is in charge of the series scripts.

The manga is also translated and published officially in English by VIZ Media. This also includes digital streaming, home video, merchandise rights (for Latin America and North America), and also electronic sell-through (EST).

Captain Tsubasa follows 11-year old Tsubasa Ozora who’s great love and skill for soccer was noticed by his coach Roberto. He was then taken to Brazil to train for the World Cup.
