Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san Season 2 Announces July Premiere, Releases New Trailer

Posted in: Anime News

What better date to announce the return of the Queen of Pranking herself than today? Yes, this is not an April Fools’ prank, as the official website of Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san (Teasing Master Takagi-san) has just announced that the anime series’ second season is set to premiere this July! A new trailer was also released, featuring of course our two adorable leads Takagi and the forever-butt of her pranks Nishikata. It needn’t be said that Takagi is (again) playing a prank on poor Nishikata. Check it out below!

More staff has also been confirmed to be on board the anime’s second season. Director Hiroaki Akagi and assistant director Shin’ya Une were previously announced to return to the series. The second season’s script will be handled by Kanichi Katou, Aki Itami, and Hiroko Fukuda, all of whom are new to the series. Aya Takano will still be handling character designs, along with Takuji Mogi and Natsukou Kondou. Music composition will still be handled by Hiroaki Tsutsumi.

Voice actors Rie Takahashi and Yuuki Kaji, who voiced Takagi and Nishikata respectively, have previously confirmed their return to the anime’s second season.

Soichiro Yamamoto first launched Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san as a manga in 2013. In January 2018 the anime adaptation of Yamamoto’s manga aired, produced by Shinei Animation. The story centers on Nishikata who is always at the receiving end of his female classmate Takagi-san’s pranks. He vows to get back at her by attempting to prank her to make her blush, but his attempts always end up backfiring on him. As he tirelessly tries to make Takagi-san blush, could his “pranks” end up yielding an unexpectedly sweet and romantic result?
