Yu Gi Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution to be Released as a Nintendo Switch Exclusive

Posted in: Anime News

Just last month, Konami announced the release of the newest Yu Gi Oh! game, Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution for Japanese players. Only a month after that announcement, Konami has confirmed that the game will also get a Western release this summer. In addition, Link Evolution will also be launched as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Some new key features of the Switch exclusive will be the versus mode, where you can challenge other players via local-play or Nintendo Switch Online. Players also get to customize and build their own deck from a pool of over 9,000 cards, the most in any Yu Gi Oh! trading card video game. Below are the other key features of the game:

• The addition of Link Monster cards not only change the way seasoned Duelists play their cards, but where they play them
• Take on the roles of the animated series’ villains with Reverse Duels
• Compete with Battle Packs for Sealed play and Draft play
• Relive and play through stories from the original Yu Gi Oh! animated series up to Yu Gi Oh! Arc V

No official trailer has been released for the game yet, but Yu Gi Oh’s official Facebook page has shared some screengrabs from the game:

To get an idea of the gameplay of Link Evolution, you can check out the trailer of the 2016-released Yu Gi Oh! Legacy of the Duelist game, which most think won’t be vastly different from the upcoming Switch exclusive.
