The anime adaptation of Coolkyoushinja’s Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is confirmed to have a second season! This was confirmed on Tuesday in the wraparound jacket band of the manga’s eight volume.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid was launched in May 2013 in the debut issue of Monthly Action magazine. It has compiled around 8 volumes so far by Futabasha. The manga is also been published and released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. Monthly Action magazine announced back in October that the series is now reaching its climax.
The first season of the anime adaptation was aired in Japan in January 2017 for a total of 13 episodes. An OVA was also released. The anime series can also be streamed through Crunchyroll (Japanese language with English subtitles) and in Funimation (English dub). A Blu-ray Disc and DVD was released by Funimation on April 24 last year.
The popularity of the manga series has also paved way to a few spinoff manga series: Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Elma’s Office Lady Diary. The third spinoff titled Kobayashi-san-chi no Maid Dragon: Lucoa wa Boku no xx Desu (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Lucoa is my xx) was released in Monthly Action magazine on January 25, 2019.
Synopsis (by Crunchyroll):
Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi’s normal life is about to go off the deep end!
