Rin Tohsaka VA Kana Ueda Hospitalized, Cancels US Appearances

Posted in: Anime News

Sad news for fans planning to go to the Fate/Grand Order USA Tour: Kana Ueda has cancelled her appearance in the said event because of health reasons. According to her agency I’m Enterprise’s post on her blog, Ueda was hospitalized last February 7 after leaving an event due to poor health. While the agency said that her health is already improving at the time of posting, she has decided to heed the advice of her doctor and the people around her to just rest for the time being.

She was set to appear in the opening event of the Fate/Grand Order USA Tour, which will be held at the California Market Center in Los Angeles on February 23 & 24. The opening event was supposed to include her, VA Satoshi Tsuruoka (Arash, Gilles de Rais, Caligula Spartacus) and FGO producer Yosuke Shiokawa in the guest line-up. According to the official US Twitter account of Fate/Grand Order, Satoshi Tsuruoka will instead take her place in the stage events she was scheduled to be in.

Ueda is best known for her role as Rin Tohsaka in the Fate/stay night franchise. She has also voiced Ishtar from Fate/Grand Order, along with other popular characters such as Yumi Fukuzawa in Maria Watches Over Us, Anastasia Hoshin in Re:Zero, and Momo Kawashima in Girls und Panzer.
We wish Ms Ueda a speedy recovery!

Update: Ueda has updated her Twitter account on Monday, saying that she has already left the hospital
