‘Dragon Ball Super: Broly’ Earns Worldwide Box Office Gross of US$100 Million!

It was reported this week in the website Mantan Web that the latest film of the popular Dragon Ball franchise titled Dragon Ball Super: Broly has earned over of US$100 million in international ticket sales as of Sunday, February 3.

In a report by Box Office Mojo last month, the film had earned US$3,600,000 in weekend ticket sales in the United States alone. It has over-all earned an estimate of US$28,958,823 for both US and Canada in its first opening weekend. The website also stated the movie has sold over 3,207,000 tickets, which now surpassed other high-grossing animated films in the rankings like Pokemon – The First Move and Pokemoon 2000 – The Movie.

For the said weekend, Dragon Ball Super: Broly is ranked at #10 in the U.S. Box Office.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly takes place after the Dragon Ball Super anime. The Dragon Ball Super manga will be skipping the story of the film but will have its own novel adaptation slated for release on December 14.

The film opened on December 14 in Japan sold more than 820,000 tickets in just in the first three days of screening. It immediately earned more than 1,050,000,000 yen and immediately topped the Japanese box office charts.

Its first world premiere event happened at Nippon Budokan last November 14 and premiered in Japan on December 14 (in regular and 4DX screenings.) The English dub premiere happened at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood on December 13.
