Nintendo Might be Offering a Smaller Switch Console This Year

Posted in: Anime News

To those who are still planning to get their own Nintendo Switch and hoping for a more compact one, you’re in luck as the Japanese financial newspaper Nikkei reports on Friday that the company plans to release a smaller version of the Switch this year.

As of December 2018, the console has sold over 32.27 million units worldwide.

It is also stated that the company has already discussed this upcoming version of the Switch to game developers and suppliers. It is said that the reason for developing a smaller version is to aim at increasing its user base and make it even more portable due to its reduced size. That said, the upcoming release of this version will be cheaper compared to the regular.

Nintendo is also strengthening the Switch’s online service although not much information has released about the nature of the update.
