‘Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow’ Anime Film Sold Over 500,000 Tickets

Our girls from Love Live! Sunshine!! has truly dominated the Japanese box office as its latest anime film Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow has sold more than 500,000 tickets since its premiere in Japan on January 4.

On just the first three days of screening, the movie is ranked #8 at the box office earning 98,963,900 yen (US$911,690.) So far it has accumulated a total of 712,448,400 yen (US$6.52 million) as of Sunday.

The cast and staff of the Love Live! Sunshine!! anime returned for the anime film. Not that this movie is not a compilation film but it will be all new original story.

The franchise’s group Aqours will go on a world tour titled Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours World Love Live! Asia 2019. The tour will happen on April 6 and 7 in Taipei, April 13 and 14 in Chiba’s Makuhari Event Hall, and April 20 and 21 in Seoul. Its fifth Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours concert will happen on June 8 and 9 at the Metlife Dome in Saitama Prefecture.
