From manga to an anime, and even a film, the magical girl of “Fate” now gains a Prisma Illya OVA.

Announced at yesterday’s “Prisma☆Klangfest ~ kaleidoscope ~”, a live anniversary event for Prisma Illya fans held at Tokyo’s Toyosu PIT, no specifics have been given on the project as of yet. What has been given is a key visual to commemorate the announcement.

“Prisma Illya”, otherwise known as "Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya” first began as a manga series by Hiroshi Hiroyama. It was released in 2007 under the serialization of Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine and gained two other installations titled “Fate/Kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei!” and “Fate/Kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3rei!!” in 2009 and 2012 respectively.

The anime adaptation of the series was produced by Silver Link and aired on Tokyo MX between July and September 2013. The series had a total of 10 episodes and had two chief directors and a director comprised of Mirai Minato, Takashi Sakamoto, and Shin Oonuma respectively. As for the writers of the anime, Kenji Inoue acted as the series composer while Hazuki Minase worked with him on the scripts. Nozomi Ushijima, who worked as a key animator for the “Nisekoi – False Love” series acted as a character designer for the anime.

“Prisma Illya” sets in a “Fate” universe where Illya ends up having a normal childhood. She now lives with her overachieving nice guy older brother Shirou Emiya and her two maids, her parents are perpetually out of the country. Still, she dreams of using magic and ends being chosen alongside a girl named Miyu by two “Kaleid Sticks” to become magical girls.
