Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighting has Persona 5 Protagonist Joker Joining In

A new addition is announced for the “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” crossover fighting game and it is “Persona 5” protagonist Joker.

He will be joining as a DLC character and appear alongside four other characters following the game’s release. For each DLC pack, there will be one character, stage, and song for US$5.99. A Fighters Pass will give players access to all five characters. One noted character is Piranha Plant who will be available several months after launch as a limited-time free DLC character for people who register their games on their Nintendo accounts by January 21.

For those who purchase the Fighters pass will receive a Mii Fighter costume of Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Rex, which will launch on Friday.

The game will ship for Nintendo Switch on Friday and new characters introduced include “Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s” Isabelle, “Metroid’s” Ridley, “Castlevania’s” Simon, “Donkey Kong’s King K. Rool”, and Pokémon’s Incineroar. In addition, the game will include all previous playable characters and support eight-player battles.

Another feature noted for the game are characters that will be joining the game as “Echo Fighters” for other characters. It is noted that they will have moves and properties that closely match another character’s. They include the following:

“Street Fighter’s” Ken for Ryou
“Castlevania’s” Richter for Simon
“Fire Emblem’s” Chrom for Ike
Daisy for Peach
Lucina for Marth
Dark Pit for Pit

On another note, a Smash World app is in development for release on iOS and Android in 2019. It will allow players to post and watch gameplay videos and check statistics in the app and upon its release, it will continue to receive updates and staff will reveal more details about the app in the future.

Developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo, “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” is a crossover fighting for Nintendo Switch and is the fifth installment in the “Super Smash Bros.” series, succeeding “Super Smash Bros.” for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. It was in March 2018 that the game was first teased then revealed at E3 2018. The game features every playable character from previous Super Smash Bros. games. From Nintendo’s mascots to characters from third-party franchises and several newcomers.
