Yowamushi Pedal and Sanrio Team up for a Collaboration Cafe

Starting on January 9, there will be a limited-time collaboration cafe featuring Sanrio and “Yowamushi Pedal.”

It will be held at 46 Shokudou in Ikebukuro and 21 characters will be featured in both merchandise and meals. For the collaboration, the “Yowapeda” characters have gained a cute redesign with them as chibis. Both merchandise and themed menu items can only be enjoyed during the event which will run until February 13.

For those who wish to take part in the event, they should book a table in advance. Those who do so will receive one of four possible A4 stickers selected randomly. With the menu, it includes set meals, parfaits featuring the school team colors and drinks with the chibi designs.

“Yowamushi Pedal” is a sports series that first began as a manga series written and illustrated by Wataru Watanabe. It was released in 2008 and is being serialized by Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion. The anime came about in October 2013 and recently it has been confirmed that a fourth season will be premiering in January 2019.

The third season of the series had released in January 2017 and was titled “Yowamushi Pedal New Generation.” It took place in the aftermath of Sohoku High defeating Hakone Gakuen in the national tournament “Inter-High,” and the senior members are retiring. Now the first years fall under the leadership of Teshima as team captain and Aoyagi as vice-captain.
