Deku Midoriya’s Popularity Drops in Recent ‘My Hero Academia’ Poll

Posted in: Anime News

Izuku “Deku” Midoriya maybe one of the most awesome anime characters we seen so far, but it seems that his popularity dropped in the recent My Hero Academia poll that was published in this week’s release of the Weekly Shonen Jump.

From second place last year, he is now at number 3 this year. The runner-up spot is taken by Shoto Todoroki while Katsuki Bakugo takes the number one spot.

This is Bakugo’s third year in the number one spot and it’s no surprise since his hotheadedness and awesome looks still give us a thumbs up and surprise every time. The new fan favorite, the Pro Hero Hawks made its debut back in May and made it at #4 in this year’s polls.

Below show the complete Top 10 results:

1 Katsuki Bakugo
2 Shoto Todoroki
3 Izuku “Deku” Midoriya
4 Hawks
5 Eijiro “Red Riot” Kirishima
6 Tsunagu “Best Jeanist” Hakamata
7 Momo “Creati” Yaoyorozu
8 Enji “Endeavor” Todoroki
9 Tenya “Ingenium” Iida
10 Toshinori “All Might” Yagi

The anime is based from the manga series of the same name created by Kohei Horikoshi. It was first published in the Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014 with 20 compiled volumes released so far.
