Light Tuchihi's This Hero is Invincible but "Too Cautious" Fantasy Novel Gains an Animation by WHITEFOX

A new anime adaptation is announced with WHITE FOX taking on the production. Based on the Kono Yuusha ga Ore TUEEE Kuse ni Shincho Sugiru (This Hero is Invincible but “Too Cautious”) light novel, no production details have been confirmed as of yet.

Created by Light Tuchihi, the series was first released in June 2016 n KADOKAWA’s user-generated novel publishing website Kakuyomu. Following this is February 2017 the series then gained a print edition with illustrations by Saori Toyota, the artist behind “(The) Legend of the Legendary Heroes” character designs. Currently, the series will be releasing its fifth volume on November 10.

The story of the series tells of Ristarte, a spoiled rookie goddess who takes charge of salvation of a super hard mode world. One day she manages to summon a hero named Seiya Ryuguin who has a cheating-level status. However, while the man holds great power, he is extremely cautious. When buying armor, he buys not one, not two but three sets, stating they’re, “One to wear, one for spare, and one for a spare when the spare is gone." From this, he builds up a large stockpile of different items.

Regarding training, rather than heading out and challenging different strong opponents or take quests to level up, he instead stays in his room for weight training until he reaches his maximum level. Even when he does set out to fight against beasts, even when it is a fight against a slime, he is cautious enough to use his full power.

With WHITE FOX, it is an animation studio that specializes in the adaptation of dark fantasy light novels and other works with predominantly dramatic and mature content. The studio was founded by Gaku Iwasa in April 2007 and is a spin-off of OLM, Inc.

The first series to be produced by the studio is “Tears to Tiara” and since then, the studio has released hits like “Steins; Gate” and “Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World.” The most recent series released by the studio is “Goblin Slayer.” Other than series, the studio has also released ONA/OVas and films such as “Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World: Memory Snow” and “Peacemaker Kurogane: Belief” respectively.
