Synopsis
This is the cute daily life story of a manga artist with a catboy as a roommate.
The Good
All it took was a look at the picture and title and the writer was hooked. From the poster alone you can tell there’s going to be cuteness with this series and it truly delivered along with some good comedy mixed in. The way it introduced the cat-boy and his ability to shapeshift was rather fun and given the dynamic it presented between the main characters in just three episodes with three minutes each, it’s clear that the series will be presenting a truly fluffy story. More than the story and the characters, the art style of the series gives a simple but enjoyable look for the series. Honestly, this writer has a soft spot for 2D animation styles like this. There’s a real charm to them
The Bad
It’s a cute series but it could do better with its comedy given it’s centered around the catboy basically being a cute cat character while the manga artist tries to hide him being a catboy. There are moments where the comedy works, but really looking at it, it was rather expected what type of humor the series would incorporate. Being a short series and featuring a daily life story, there isn’t much to be expected in terms of plot. Still, it would be nice if the series did some more in-depth character exploration in future episodes, maybe some short flashbacks to mix the story tone just a tad.
Conclusion
There’s not much else to be said about the series other than it’s cute. It’s short so there isn’t much to be expected in terms of plot development though it had developed a charming dynamic between the characters so far. There are moments when the comedy works but for the most part, it’s what you would expect with this type of series. Other than this, the art style fits the series really well. Overall, if you’re looking for a cute series to relax and watch, this is the series for you.
