Kotono Mitsuishi is Revealed as Tae Yamada's Voice in Zombie Land Saga

A new cast member is revealed for the “Zombieland Saga” anime with the release of its third episode.

Kotono Mitsuishi enters the series as the voice of Tae Yamada. Prior to the reveal, the character was marked with “????” in the cast listing. Mitsuishi, who began her career in 1988, is a well-known voice actress and narrator who has performed dozens of roles. Her most prominent roles include as Usagi Tsukino, the lead character in the “Sailor Moon” anime franchise, along with Misato Katsuragi in “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” Boa Hancock in “One Piece,” and Nobita’s mom in “Doraemon.”

“Zombieland Saga” made its debut on October 4 with MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames taking on its production. Directing the series Munehisa Sakai, a director of the “One Piece” series who also worked on the storyboard of the series’ first episode. “Kōhōkōchōka Zombie-gakari” (PR Zombie) is credited for the original work. Working on the series composition is Shigeru Murakoshi, the writer behind the “Azure Striker Gunvolt” ONA. Kasumi Fukagawa, an artist who worked on “Persona 3 the Movie #1 Spring of Birth” as the Assistant Animation Director is acting as the character designer for the series. Composing the music for the anime is Yasuharu Takanashi.

“Zombie Land Saga,” tells the story of Sakura Minamoto. She dreamed of becoming an idol but ends up being hit by a car. Rather than passing on, she wakes up as a zombie and is told by a man named Kōtarō Tatsumi that he is recruiting her into an idol group made up of zombies, Dead Girls he has “recruited” from several eras of Japanese history.

It was back in July that the anime was revealed at the AnimeExpo by Cygames with a teaser trailer at its booth and the Zombie Land Saga website.
