Anime Film ‘Night is Short, Walk on Girl’ Earns $350,000 at the U.S. Box Office!

The anime film The Night is Short Walk On, Girl earned US$350,979 at the U.S. box office from in 415 theaters from August 21 to 26. This was based a report by Box Office Mojo.

The film won awards: the Grand Prize for Features award at the Ottawa International Film Festival last September and Animation of the Year during the 41st annual Japan Academy Prizes that happened in March.

Both GKIDS and Fathom Events screen the film from August 21 to 22 and GKIDS continued the film screenings after the 22nd. The movie was screening in its original Japanese language (with English subtitles).

The Night is Short Walk On, Girl premiered in Japan in April 2017 which is based from Tomihiko Morimi’s novel of the same name. The movie takes place in Kyoto and centered on a “Sempai” who falls in love with his “Kouhai”, the “Girl with Black Hair” and does his best to get his attention.
