For the die-hard Pokemon trading card game collectors, having a holographic Charizard is one of the rarest things to have. In order for you to get it, it can only be found in the franchise’s first edition booster box. In a recent auction, an unopened box was sold at price of $56,000 USD! The auction which was handled by Huggins & Scott, started the price bid at $20,000 USD.

A previous auction for an unopened first edition booster box was sold for $54,200 USD while individual cards from the packs go as much as $55,650 USD (this was a price for one holographic Charizard).

An ultra-rare Japanese Pokemon card “Illustrator” was auctioned for $54,970 back in 2016. A reprint of the original Pokemon cards was done in Japan last 2015.
