Eir Aoi and LiSA to Perform Theme Songs of ‘Sword Art Online: Alicization’

It was revealed on Thursday on the official website of the Sword Art Online: Alicization website that two popular Japanese artists Eir Aoi and LiSA will perform the theme songs for the upcoming anime series. LiSA will perform the opening song titled “Adamas” while Eir Aoi will perform the ending theme song titled “Iris”. The single CD for the latter is slated to be released on October 24.

Kirito returns in this new upcoming anime series of the Sword Art Online franchise which will cover the original novel’s “Alicization Arc” on volumes 9 to 18.

In a previous announcement on its official website, it was also confirmed that there are world premiere events to happen in the following countries: Russia, France, Germany, United States, Austrailia, Japan, and South Korea. The anime’s first episode will be a one-hour special. The anime will premiere in Japan in October.

So far only the Japanese premiere event was announced which will be on September 15 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. This special event will have special guests Haruka Tomatsu, Yoshitugu Matsuoka, and Ai Kayano.

In an interview, the anime’s director Manabu Ono accepted the job as director during the time of the preview screenings of the Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film and they were already in talks with the Aniplex staff since the time the franchise will be adapting the whole original novel series into anime.

This new anime will again have Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu as Kirito and Asuna respectively. Joining them is Nobunaga Shimazaki as Eugeo and Ai Kayano as Alice.
