Posted in: Anime News

Our favorite heroes from My Hero Academia get classy as official party dress designs were unveiled in the official website of the My Hero Academia: Two Heroes anime film on Monday. Aside from that, the official visual of the young All Might was also released.

The movie is slated to be released in Japan on August 3. Both TOHO and Funimation will be hosting the film’s world premiere during Anime Expo on July 5. Funimation has plans in releasing the film for both US and Canada this fall.

New characters in the film include Melissa Shield(voiced by Mirai Shida), David Shield (voiced by Katsuhisa Namase, and Wolfram (voiced by Rikiya Koyama). Melissa is a quirkless girl who Deku meets in the I Island while David is a childhood friend of All Might and is a scientist creating hero support items. Wolfram is a leader of a mysterious villain team that wants to overthrow the Hero Society.

A video that was released last April gave us a sneak peak into the “I Island” setting and also a younger All Might! You can check out teaser trailer below:

The first My Hero Academia film takes place after the Final Exam Arc during the “Forest Training Training Arc” set on “I Island”, a floating manmade movable city. It will be revealing a certain character’s unrevealed past as well as featuring the characters of Class A.

Original manga creator Kohei Horikoshi will be chief supervisor of the film. He is also credited for the original story and character designs. The director of the anime at BONES Kenji Nagasaki will be also be directing the film along with some returning staff like composer Yuuki Hayashi, character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda. TOHO will be officially distributing the film.
