‘Violet Evergarden’ Announces its ‘Same Time Period’ Anime Film Premiere in January 2020!

Get ready for more feels as Kyoto Animation announced that Violet Evergarden will have an anime film slated to premiere on January 2020. In a tweet which featured the announcement video on Friday reveals that the film will premiere in a “same time period” worldwide. It was also announced that the franchise will have a new published work to be released soon.

Violet Evergarden is based from the novel series of the same name written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase. The series won the grand prize in the novel category in the fifth Koyo Animation award program in 2014. The novel series was published in two volumes in December 2015 and December 2016 by KA Esuma Bunko.

The anime adaptation of this winning novel series aired in Japan on January 10. The anime also premiered in the video streaming platform Netflix on January 11 (Japan, United Kingdom, Canada, and the Philippines) and on April 5 (for the United States). The fourth and last home video release to be released in Japan on July 4 will contain an “Extra Episode”.
