Only a week is left till the release of the “Overlord III” anime and the series’ official web has listed three home video releases and a total of 13 episodes for the upcoming work.
Set to release on July 10, the third season of the “Overlord” series will be aired on AT-X, Tokyo MX, and MBS, and it will debut for the AbemaTV streaming service on the same day. Following this, the show will be aired on BS11 on July 11, and on TV Aichi on July 12. The anime will also be streamed by Crunchyroll and will have an English dub stream to be done by Funimation.
The “Overlord” anime first made its debut in July 2015 and spanned until September 2015 with a total of 13 episodes. The second season of the anime premiered in January and had ended on April 3.
No confirmation has been made for the staff of the new season but for the past two seasons, “Digimon: Data Squad’s” Naoyuki Itou has been acting as directing. Yukie Sugawara, the series composer of “(The) Idolm@ster SideM” acted as the writer of the series.

The main story of the series sets in the year 2126. A Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game or DMMORPG called Yggdrasil was released and has since risen in popularity. After an intense 12-year run the game servers are about to be shut down. Within the game exists a guild, Ainz Ooal Gown which has been considered as the strongest guilds in the game. Now with 37 members having had quit, only 4 members remain.
One of these members is an elder lich character named Mommonga. With the impending end of the game, he has decided to remain in the game till the last second. As the remaining guild leader, he explores their headquarters, The Great Tomb of Nazarick one last time.
However, when the last second of the game passes, Momonga finds himself stuck in the game. What’s more, not only have the NPCs come to life, but they and the entire headquarters has been transported to a new world.
