Shojo Kageki Revue Starlight Gains a Smartphone Game

The “Shōjo Kageki Revue Starlight” franchise is officially getting a smartphone game. Announced on the official website of the franchise, the game is titled “Shōjo Kageki Revue Starlight: Re-LIVE” and will be developed by Ateam.

Further details on the game will be revealed during a live stream event on Monday. As for the anime series of the franchise, it will be making its debut on July 12. It will be aired on TBS at 25:28 (effectively, July 13 at 1:28 a.m.), and then will run on the CBC, BS-TBS, MBS, and RKB channels.

Directing the anime is Tomohiro Furukawa, who majorly worked as a key animator. Taking charge of the script of the series is Tatsuto Higuchi, the writer of the “D.Gray-man Hallow” script. Hiroyuki Saita, who majorly worked as a key animator and animation director will be working as the character designer of the series. Producing the series is Kinema Citrus, a studio known to have produced “Made in Abyss.”

The Shōjo Kageki Revue Starlight is a Japanese media franchise that was created by Bushiroad and Nelke Planning. Established in 2017, the franchise so far consists of a musical, performed between September 22 and 24, 2017 at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo, the upcoming anime and now the game.

With the story, it centers on a song and dance revue troupe named “Starlight” who is loved throughout the world. When Karen and Hikari were young, they made a promise that they would one day stand on the same stage together.

Now at 16, the girls have taken on different paths. With Karen, she has grown to be an enthusiastic girl who aims to keep her promise. Hikari, on the other hand, had transferred schools and ended up separated from Karen. Still, fate manages to reunite the two and now, they along with other “Stage Girls” will compete in a mysterious audition process to gain acceptance into the revue.
