Synopsis
This is a tale that tells of the daily lives of four female high school mangaka living in a dormitory
First Impression
The episode managed to introduce a good relatability with the characters along with their general characters. The build-up in character dynamics by far was the strongest point of the episode. Other than that, there was a nice mellowness towards the end to balance out the episode. The comedy was a bit on the wacky side and the protagonist leaned a little too heavy on the usual tropes but it wasn’t too bad. Still, it could have worked its pacing and it’s only redeeming factor is that it can be sweet.
General Impression
It’s the usual cute girls do cute things set-up but the aspect of them being manga adds something different for the series. Really, there isn’t enough series that touches on what it is like being a manga artist without going a little overboard somehow. Simply put, the series gives a nice balance between the bonding between the characters and showing the development of their art and passion.
With the characters, they seem like the stereotypes that they appear to be. However, the series expands on their general personalities and gives something rather cute and amusing as a result. The humor can get repetitive and it’s what you’d expect from the general theme, but it doesn’t take a whole lot from the series. The only real flaw with the series is how predictable and repetitive it can be. Honestly, the series has met most expectations so far.
Conclusion
The series presents a great friendship story and a nice theme of passion for art which helped developed the story. The comedy started off a bit of a mess but it balanced well enough as the series progressed. So far the biggest issue with the series as stated is that it can be predictable and the humor can get repetitive. There’s not a lot that makes the series stand out, but the dynamics between the characters is enjoyable all the same.
