The upcoming anime adaptation of Lord of Vermilion: Guren no Ō (Crimson King) arcade trading card game has released new details on its official website on Thursday. Sayuri Inoue from Nogizaka46 will be joining in as a returning cast from the Square Enix arcade games. The website also confirms that the anime will air in July. The anime’s opening and ending (“Akaku Zetsubo no Hana”) theme songs will be performed by May’n and JUNNA respectively.

Previously, the website unveiled two characters and their voice actors namely Yuuki Kaji as Chihiro Kamina and Misato Fukuen as Yuri Shiraki. Excluding Sayuri Inoue, all cast members from the games will be reprisiing their respective roles.

The anime series takes place in the year 2030 in Tokyo where a high-frequency resonant sound is heard and red mist surrounds a suburban area. Anyone who hears this, loses consciousness regardless of they are animal or human. The government thinks that this could be a virus or a possible epidemic. They blocked entries to Tokyo and move base to Osaka. Six days later, those who lost consciousness due to the sound suddenly awaken and life seemed to be normal again after that. But as each day goes by, those affected are drawn to one another and must face a cruel fate.
