The Upcoming "How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord" Anime has its Main Cast Confirmed

The three main cast of the upcoming anime adaptation of “Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo Dorei Majutsu”/“How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord” has been confirmed.

To mark the new announcement for the series, a newly-drawn illustration of Diablo was also revealed. In addition to this, the anime has been confirmed to air in July 2018 and will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX, BS11, and AT-X.

Starting from right to left, casted to voice as the protagonist Takuma Sakamoto/demon lord Diablo is Masaaki Nizunaki, the voice behind Kakeru Ryūen in “Classroom of the Elite.” Yu Serizawa, who played as Mirei Minami in “Pripara” will be playing the role of Shera L. Greenwood. As for the role of Rem Galleu, that will be taken by Azumi Waki, who is known to have played a role in “Please tell me! Galko-chan” as Galko-chan.

The story of the series begins the MMORPG Cross Reverie, where a young man named Takuma Sakamoto has become so powerful, he has earned the title “Demon Lord” by other players. One day he ends up being summoned into another world, and as his avatar no less! The one to summon him are two girls who declare themselves as his Summoner and in the bid to claim him before the other, perform an Enslavement Ritual to turn him into their Summon.

Due to Takuma’s passive ability Magic Reflection activating however, rather than he end up their slave, they instead become his. And just to add things, while Takuma may be a powerful player, he has no idea how to talk to other people. Now stuck in a new world, he makes the decision to immerse himself in his character and take on this new life.

Directing the upcoming series is Yuta Murano. He will be working at Ajia-do Animation Works with series composer Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and character designer Shizue Kaneko.

The series is based on the Japanese light novel written by Yukiya Murasaki and illustrated by Takahiro Tsurusaki. Released in December 2014 with around eight volumes, it was later adapted into a manga series by Naoto Fukuda has been running since 2015. Recently the series had its first e-book released in November 2017, then the second volume followed in February 2018.
