Synopsis
Michiru Amatsuki has just moved into Tokyo to pursue a new career. Along with her move she had made the decision to live in a women-only share house named “Stella House Haruno.” It’s here that she meets women of different ages and occupations and begins a bond with them over beer and other drinks.
General Impression
The characters of the series are pretty much the highlight next to the alcohol theme. There were plenty of points about them that would be considered as rather relatable for those who are entering the workforce or who knows the stress of the workforce. The series also excels in presenting a theme of enjoying the simple things and learning to take a break when you need to. In terms of plot and characters it’s a rather simple but holds a nice charm to it.
The real highlight of the series lies in the presentation of the alcohol. From the design to the presentation of different ways to enjoy the drink makes for some fun visual work. True, half of the episode pretty much comes off as a promotional work for the alcohol being featured, but it at least works its characters well enough, though the development could have been done better.
Ending Thoughts
When looking at the bigger picture, there isn’t anything that pops out from the final episode of the series. Oh sure, it gave some good development on one of the characters, but it still held a good tone and wasn’t too terrible. Once again though it was pretty much a promotional work for a brand alcohol mixed in with a guide in serving others in a social function. It would have been nice if it had ended something like a flash of her doing the event and ended on a more light-hearted tone of the characters having the first drink they had together in the end, it would fit quite well with the ton and theme of the series honestly.
Conclusion
Overall, the series while largely presented as a sort of promotional work for different kinds of drinks and a presentation guide on how to serve/enjoy them, it did present a solid theme outside of this. The characters are not all that developed, but the dynamics between work well between them and they do present the secondary theme of enjoying the simpler things and learning to relax rather. It’s simple, it has its moments, and would be a good anime to get some ideas for drinks.
