It was announced on Sunday in Shogakukan that Gosho Aoyama’s popular manga series Detective Conan will return from hiatus on April 11. It will be released on this year’s 20th issues of Weekly Shonen Sunday.

To accompany the announcement, Aoyama wrote a handwritten message stating the series will begin a new arc featuring a showdown between Shuichi Akai and Toru Amuro. He assured that this is not an April Fool’s joke (as his announcement was posted on April 1).

The manga went on hiatus in December so that Aoyama could rest have receive medical treatment. The 94th volume of the manga was released December 18.

The previous hiatus for the manga series happened last November 29 when Aoyama had to conduct research.
