A “research” feature update has been announced by mobile game developer Niantic in Pokemon GO last Monday and was implemented on its latest app update on March 30.
Aside from this announcement, the mythical Pokemon Mew is also added to the game but it’s not for certain yet if it will be obtainable. Trainers will be able to obtain “Field Research” tasks at PokeStops. This will contain tasks like catching specific Pokemon or battling. Aside from this, in-game character Professor Willow will also give you a “Special Research” story-based task.
When you complete each task successfully, you will be to get stamps and rewards. Seven obtained stamps will unlock a “Research Breakthrough” will leads to more awesome rewards or might “let you encounter a Legendary Pokemon”.
The announcement confirms that participating in the Pokemon research update will be also to discover the “mystery behind Mew”.
