"Hisone and Masotan" Reveals a New Anime Visual

Dragons disguising themselves as airplanes is the main feature for the newly revealed visual of the upcoming anime series, “Hisone and Masotan.”

Set to be released on April 12, 2018, and broadcasted in Japan on Tokyo MX, BS Fuji, and Gifu Housou, the series also had its opening and ending theme performers revealed along with the new visual.

“Hisone and Masotan” first came out as manga adapted by Toshinao Aoki on March 9, 2018, under the publication of Fujimi Shobo in the April 2018 issue of the Monthly Dragon Age magazine. However, the upcoming work was first announced as a new anime series in December 2017 at the “Executive Director Shinji Higuchi’s Latest Project Unveiling” event at Tokyo Comic-Con.

The manga adaptation for the series was later announced on February 9 in the March issue of Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age magazine.

When the series was first revealed, it held the tagline “I will fly the skies with you” and already had a story confirmed. It takes focus on a Self-Defense Force rookie named Hisone Amakasu. She is a straightforward and innocent girl who struggles with the fact that she sometimes hurts people unintentionally by her innocent words.

Deciding to join the Air Self-Defence Force in hopes of maintaining a certain distance from people she ends being stationed at the Air Self-Defense Force’s Gifu Base. With this decision, however, comes the biggest change in her life as she encounters “OTF” dragon hidden in the base.

In regards to the opening and ending theme for the series, the opening theme is titled “Shōjo wa Ano Sora o Wataru"/“The Girl Who Spans the Sky” and is to be performed by Riko Fukumoto. For the ending theme, it will be performed by D Pie, a 5 person vocal unit consisting of the following cast members:

Misaki Kuno as Hisone Amakasu
Tomoyo Kurosawa as Nao Kaizaki
Mari Kawase as El Hoshino
Satomi Arai as Liliko Kinutsugai
Kaori Nazuka as Mayumi Hitomi

They will be performing in character and the song is entitled, “ Le temps de la rentree: Koi no Ieji (Shingakki)."
