Niantic and Fuji TV confirms ‘Ingress’ Anime to Release in October

Posted in: Anime News

On Thursday, during the “Plus Ultra – Fuji TV Anime Lineup Presentation 2018” event by Fuji TV, it was revealed that an anime adaptation of the augmented reality smartphone game Ingress is now in the works and slated to be released in Japan in October during its +Ultra programming block. Craftar (The Relative Worlds) will be animating the series.

Before Niantic became popular with its development of Pokemon GO, the game developer company was first notable for this game.

The game was first launched in 2012. The company revealed in December that a major update called Ingress Prime will be released this year.

Last December, the official Twitter account of the game teased that there would be a “future Ingress anime” in the works. The app is so popular that several manga adaptations were released way back.
