The Tokyo Public Prosecutors office on Tuesday filed a summary indictment against Nabuhiro Watsuki, the creator of the popular manga series Rurouni Kenshin. On the same day, we also required to pay the fine of 200,000 yen by the Tokyo Summary Court for the possession of child pornography DVDs.

According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Watsuki possessed a lot of DVDs which contain videos of young teenage girls last October. Authorities searched his home due to a different investigation which was linked to his DVD purchases. The porn DVDs were found in his own office in Tokyo by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police.

In relation to the charges filed against him, Japanese publisher Shueisha announced last year that his latest work in the franchise titled Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc (Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Hokkaido-hen) was to be on hiatus.
