sumika is the Performer of the Opening Theme Song of Wotakoi: Love is Hard

The opening theme for the upcoming anime “Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku” a.k.a. “Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii” has been confirmed and will be performed by the four-man band sumika.
Titled as “Friction”, the theme song was revealed on the official website for the series and is currently being previewed in a commercial stream by Aniplex.

The series will be making its debut in April with a programming block under Fuji TV’s Noitamina. The main story of the series tells of Naru and her awkward romantic comedy. Described as secret fujoshi and a female office worker, this is the tale of her and Hirotaka, a handsome and capable company man who is secretly a game otaku.

Acting as both the director and series composer of the series is Yoshimasa Hiraike, who previously worked on the “Nyanko Days” series. He will be working at A-1 Pictures along Takahiro Yasuda who will be acting as the character designer of the series. He is known for having previously worked as a key animator and animation director for a variety of series including the second season of “Black Butler.” Composing the music for the series is Akimitsu Honma, the composer behind the “Cardcaptor Sakura.”

In terms of cast, playing as the female lead Narumi Momose is Arise Date, who played as Yui Yumekawa in “Idol Time PriPara” while Kent Itou, the voice behind Shushin in “Reikenzan: Eichi e no Shikaku”

Taking on the role of Hanako Koyanagi is Miyuki Sawashiro, known to play as “Seri Awashima” in the “K” series. With her is the voice behind Hideki Motosuwa in “Chobits” Tarou Kabakura playing as Tomokazu Sugita.

The last noted pair for the cast is Aoi Yuuki to be voiced by Kou Sakuragi, best known for playing the role of Tsuyu Asui in ‘My Hero Academia” and Yuuki Kaji, who played as Finny in “Black Butler” to voice as Naoya Nifuji.
