Posted in: Anime News

Only two days after its release on February 3 and Toei Animation’s upcoming feature film “PreCure Super Stars!” has already broken a record with a total of 60,000 advanced ticket sales.

In the 15 years that the series has ran and out of its 24 films, this is the highest record that the magical girl franchise has reached. With such a high success mark for the franchise and the ongoing 15th TV series “Hugtto! PreCure’s” favourable reputation, much anticipation is pending on the film being able to break the box office record for the first time in eight years.

It was with its 2015 film “Futari wa PreCure Max Heart the Movie” that the franchise last reached a high record, having reached a total of 43,000 sales at a time that the franchise was in one of it’s peaks of popularity in Japan.

On the earnings record side of the franchise however, with a total of 1.11 billion yen in March 2010, “PreCure All Stars DX2: Light of Hope – Protect the Rainbow Jewel!” takes the record.

Featuring the 12 PreCure girls from the recent three TV series “Maho Girls PreCure!”, “Kirakira PreCure a la Mode”, and “Hugtto! PreCure”, the film is set to officially be released in Japan on March 17.

Included in the cast for the film are:

Haruka Fukuhara as Himari Arisugawa/Cure Custard
Inori Minase as Kirarin/Ciel Kirahoshi/Cure Parfait
Karen Miyama as Ichika Usami/Cure Whip
Nanako Mori as Akira Kenjō/Cure Chocolat
Rie Hikisaka as Hana Nono/Cure Yell
Rie Takahashi as Mirai Asahina/Cure Miracle
Rina Hon’izumi as Saaya Yakushiji/Cure Ange
Saki Fujita as Yukari Kotozume/Cure Macaron
Saori Hayami as Ha-chan/Kotoha Hanami/Cure Felice
Tomo Muranaka as Aoi Tategami/Cure Gelato
Yui Horie as Riko/Cure Magical
Yui Ogura as Homare Kagayaki/Cure Étoile

One feature to note with the film is that Kazuki Kitamura will be making his voice acting debut with the film as the villain Usobakka, a monster that is attempting to turn the world into one full of lies and is the "Precure’s worst enemy.”

On a different note, “Hugtto! Precure” is the newest series of the franchise and was just released on February 4. Any other details on the work can be found on its official website which contains the tagline “"You can do anything! You can be anything! Embrace a shining future!"
