A 3rd Season is Set for the Ninja Girl & Samurai Master Anime

As of Wednesday, it has officially confirmed by the “Ninja Girl & Samurai Master” website that a third season has been green-lit and will be titled as “Nobunaga no Shinobi: Anegawa” Ishiyama-hen” which literally translates to “Nobunaga’s Ninja: The Anegawa/Ishiyama Arc.”

Set to begin steaming in April, the new season will be having the main cast reprising their roles which include:

Inori Minase as Chidori

Wataru Hatano as Nobunaga

Ayumu Murase as Sukezō

Chiaki Takahashi as Kichō

Suzuko Mimori as Oichi

Kappei Yamaguchi as Hideyoshi

Tomokazu Seki as Mori Yoshinari

Yasuaki Takumi as Azai Nagamasa

Daisuke Kishio as Asakura Yoshikage

As for the staff, there is Akitarou Daichi returning as director and working at TMS Entertainment. With him are character designer Junko Yamanaka, art director Manami Koyama, color key artist Rie Katoh, director of photography Akemi Sasaki, editor Ikuyo Fujita, sound director Kazuya Tanaka, and musical composer Toshio Masuda. For the new season the story, it will be featuring the Battle of Anegawa wherein Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu’s forces go against Azai and Asakura’s forces.

First released in 2008 as a four-panel manga series by Naoki Shigeno and serialized in Hakusensha’s seinen manga magazine Young Animal, the series currently has a total of 9 volumes. In 2012, a spin-off work was released by Hakusensha’s seinen manga magazine Young Animal Arashi/ Titled “Nobunaga no Shinobi: Owari Tōitsu-ki”, it reached only one volume before other spin-off works were released including “Gunshi Kuroda Kanbee Den, Masamune sama to Kagetsuna kun” and “Sanada Tamashii.

The anime adaptation of the series later released in October 2016 and had a total of 26 episodes before ending in March 2017. The second season of the anime then made its debut in April 2017 and ran until September 2017 with a total of 26 episodes as well. Other than the two anime seasons, there was also an “Episode 0” that was released between March 25 and 27 at the AnimeJapan Event.

The story for the series tells of Chidori, a young female ninja whose dream is to help the Warring States-era warlord Oda Nobunaga to achieve his goals.
