Posted in: Anime News

It was announced on Friday by Nintendo that its new 2DS XL Pikachu Edition will be released in the North America region on January 26. The model features a cute close-up of Pikachu’s face on the front in a bright yellow theme.

This special Nintendo 2DS XL unit is priced at $159.99 USD.

This release is without a doubt in preparation for the upcoming release of the Nintendo 3DS game Detective Pikachu to be released in the West on March 23. The game is also playable on the special edition system. The game stars the iconic mascot Pikachu solving numerous cases in the Pokemon world. Aside from these releases, an amiibo figure of Detective Pikachu that is larger than the regular ones will be released alongside with the game.
