Get ready for a different kind of gamble as the live-action series adaptation of Kakegurui is set to air in Japan on January 14! The main cast of the series is featured in its first promotional video which you can watch below:
Aside from the announcement of the live-action series, it was also revealed that the manga has sold over 3.7 million printed copies. Proof that this is a series that should definitely read and watch.
Minami Hamabe will be playing as Yumeko Jabami, Mahiro Takasugi as Ryōta Suzui, Aoi Morikawa as Mary Saotome, Taishi Nakagawa as Kaede Manyūda, Yurika Nakamura as Sayaka Igarashi, Natsume Mito as Runa Yomotsuki, Ruka Matsuda as Itsuki Sumeragi, Natsumi Okamoto as Yuriko Nishinotōin, Yūma Yamoto as Jun Kiwatari, Kiyo Matsumoto as Nanami Tsubomi, and Miki Yanagi as Midari Ikishima.
The Kakegurui manga was first released in Gangan Joker magazine in March 2014 and published its 8th compiled volume last August 22. The ninth volume is slated to be released on January 27. The popularity of the manga paved way to an anime adaptation which aired in Japan last year from July to September. A second season of the anime series has been recently confirmed.
